The simple truth of the matter is that there are numerous threats out there that target Windows-powered PCs and there are numerous bad guys who would like to scam or steal your data. With the aim of keeping your PC safe and secure, Symantec came up with Norton Internet Security, an advanced security tool that employs 5 layers of protection to guard against viruses, online identity thieves, and other threats. You don’t need to worry about a thing. Just go about your day and let Norton Internet Security do its job; it will run in the background, without hogging system resources mind you, and it will keep your PC, your data, and your online identity safe.

Norton Internet Security works with Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8. To get the application up and running on a Windows-powered machine, you must download an executable, run it, and then follow the instructions a setup wizard presents to you. The setup is not a complicated process – it will go along smoothly and rapidly. Without putting too much effort into it, you will quickly have Norton Internet Security up and running on your PC.

The application’s interface is quite easy to navigate – and if you’ve used Norton AntiVirus or Norton 360 before, you should immediately feel at home. Large buttons for launching the scan process, updating the software, accessing the advanced features, and viewing the system status are presented front and center on the interface. At the top there are buttons for accessing the Settings menu, the Performance menu, for giving feedback to the developer, for accessing your Norton account, and for getting support. On the right hand side there are buttons for accessing Norton Online Family, Norton Safe Web, your online backup status, and more.

Norton Internet Security’s purpose is to provide peace of mind – you can surf the web, do your thing, and this Symantec-developed tool will keep the threats at bay. This means it will protect against hard-to-remove threats, online dangers, cybercriminals, viruses, spyware, spam, unsafe websites, phishing attempts, and other nasties. If you have children, you will be glad to know that Norton Internet Security can track what websites your kids visit, can block access to inappropriate sites, and can monitor who they’re chatting with online. On top of that, Norton Internet Security will safeguard your files by automatically backing them up and it will automatically find and fix problems that slow down your PC.

Norton Internet Security is free to use for a trial period of 30 days.
